Sitar meets Disco meets Hindi New Wave. What more could you want from a party anthem? “Party Tonight – Turbotito & Ragz Rework” is a storming disco rework of a song by cult 80s South Asian New Wave band Pinky Ann Rihal. It is the second single from Naya Beat’s forthcoming reissue of their highly sought-after and impossible to find 1985 album ‘Tere Liye’. Getting the rework treatment by Naya Beat founders Turbotito and Ragz and featuring Pinky and Anne’s infectious refrain “you are invited to a party tonight,” the track is a grooving yet wistful call to a lover to party.

South Asian New Wave. Four words that you will rarely see together. The brainchild of two London-based Punjabi immigrants and progressive rock musicians Harry Rihal and Jati Sodhi, Pinky Ann Rihal were a one-off Hindi-language New Wave band from the UK. Stymied upon release by bungled distribution, poor marketing and plenty of bad luck, this incredible album seemed destined to be lost to history. Now remastered and slated for a June 2022 reissue, it will finally be available for the first time since its original and limited 1985 release!
