Legendary electronic music producer, composer and remixer Yuksek delivers a storming disco cut of Asha Puthli’s ‘I Am Song (Sing Me)’. This is the first single from Naya Beat’s forthcoming and essential album 'Disco Mystic: Select Remixes Volume 1' (out September 2023) featuring remixes of the legendary Indian vocalist Asha Puthli.

Hot off the release of his fifth studio album, the brilliant ‘Dance’O’Drome’, Yuksek brings his magical touch as a remixer to this classic track from Asha Puthli’s eponymous 1973 debut LP. 'I Am Song (Sing Me) – Yuksek Remix' is a future disco anthem. Originally penned by iconic American singer-songwriter and pianist Neil Sedaka (a close friend of Asha’s), this is a song about the very soul and purpose of music itself, a melancholic ode to the timelessness of art and artist. Working with the original stems and recordings, Yuksek tastefully creates a dance classic while staying faithful to the beautifully melancholic twists and turns of the original. Awash with uplifting synths and big claps, Yuksek’s remix soars to dizzying heights. Asha’s vocals ascend to the heavens as she sings “let me show the world that I’m not through, let me touch your hearts the way I used to do, sing me, sing me, I got a song to be sung.” It is a fitting and poetic choice to launch an album whose very purpose is to honour Asha’s legacy.
