Naya Beat label heads Turbotito & Ragz’ flip Asha Puthli’s ‘One Night Affair’ into a leggy dubbed-out disco chugger. This is the third single from Naya Beat’s forthcoming and essential album featuring remixes of the legendary Indian vocalist Asha Puthli.

‘One Night Affair’ is foundational to disco’s origin story. Penned by songwriters Gamble and Huff it came to define the Philly sound. Originally released by The O'Jays in 1969 and subsequently covered by Asha Puthli six years later on her album ‘She Loves to Hear the Music’, it is a storming but perplexingly short two-minute track that you just don’t want to stop. Founding Poolside member and daytime disco pioneer Turbotito and DJ and crate digger Ragz (both Naya Beat label cofounders) transform and extend Asha’s take into a lush 6+ minute dubbed-out disco chugger. Disco heads at heart, Turbotito & Ragz’ remix pays tribute to the Philly and gospel roots of the original with a subtle nod to pioneering disco remixer Tom Moulton along the way – all the while adding their distinctive layered sound. Lavish strings, lasers and space echo effects swirl around Asha’s sensual voice as the backing vocals chant the anthemic refrain “one night affair”. A Tom Moulton-esque break introduces a face melting bassline that takes the track to dizzying heights as it crescendos into a frenzied synth-laden Asha Puthli vocal climax.
